January 5, 2018:

Today I am leaving for Big Bend National Park. The weather in Springtown, TX is chilly this morning, but much warmer than the recent cold snap that hit the area.

The Plan: Slow, taking time to explore along the way. Since the Christmas & New Year Holidays are over, hopefully this strategy will pay off with always finding RV parks with room for overnight stops. Texas Dually is set up to handle “boondocking” or “dry camping” with minimal issues, so if it comes down to it a WalMart or other parking lot can suffice.

It has been a while since I have been able to travel. It’s almost like a new shakedown cruise. Last summer one thing after another popped up to keep me off the road. Was a Very Frustrating year in 2017 for me!

A MAJOR PORTION of this trek with Texas Dually is to explore the local areas with my Jeep Rubicon. If it is a forestry road, established Jeep trail, or the Urban Jungle, we are ready conquer most anything short of a Trump/Rocket Man pissing contest. Major focus on my travels are Off-Roading, Fly Fishing for mainly Trout, finding GREAT FOOD, Cool Local Hot Spots, Gorgeous Scenery. Since I spent over 30 yrs as a professional photographer, adding to my Stock Image Collection is also I high priority. I am going to start something new to me. Instead of all still images, I am going to also shoot video!! Oh wow, something new! A video blog? Podcasts? YouTube Videos? Why not? What I’m hoping to see happen in 2018:

  1. Big Bend National Park
  2. Quartzite, AZ
  3. Joshua Tree National Park, CA
  4. San Diego, CA
  5. Los Angeles, CA
  6. HOLLYWOOD!! Get discovered? NOT!!
