Texas Dually

This is my 2006 Volvo VNL 630 with a Volvo D12 diesel engine that has 465 hp, and 1650 ft-lbs torque.  Transmission is a manual 10 speed.

The custom flat bed is 18′ dovetailed with EZ Slide ramps hidden under the dovetail.  The ramps are 23.5″ wide, and can be extended and stowed using 1 hand.  The width of the ramps allow loading narrower vehicles, such as quads, golf carts, and even motorcycles.  The bed was built by Jamie Coursey of Texas RV & Toy Hauler Conversions.  Each bed they build is custom and depends on each customers preference.  They can install skirting with custom sized storage boxes.  I chose not to have skirted bed sides, and opted for 2 storage boxes below the bed.  I did opt for upgraded extra LED lighting.

My sleeper has been outfitted with a fridge, microwave, and a 32″ flat screen Smart TV with a DVD player.  I can also hook up my laptop and my Wacomm tablet I can process images in the sleeper. When the tracking in motion sat dishes go on sale again I am going to install one on the truck so we can watch Dish while going down the road.  Well, no the driver can’t!  But a good way to keep check on the weather, and the news, alerting us to possible Zombie attacks.  Can’t be too careful these days!
